Senior Brand Leadership when your team needs it.
Expand your strategic capacity and win more of the right work without adding headcount.
The How
4 ways i work with Agencies
Embedded Strategic Partner
I work as a senior member of your team, embedded in client engagements, present in the room when it matters, and accountable to the same outcomes you are. White-label by default. This is the right structure when an engagement demands consistent senior strategic presence over time.
Pitch & New Business Support
The pitch is where strategic depth wins or loses the room. I help agencies sharpen the strategic thinking behind new business pitches - think positioning, narrative, and brand rationale.
Client Brand Strategy
When a client needs more strategic depth than your current team can provide, I step in to lead the brand strategy work. Think positioning, architecture, personality, messaging, and direction. Your team owns execution. The client gets a stronger output.
Agency Brand & Positioning
Agencies are often the last to apply rigorous brand thinking to themselves. If your agency has outgrown its positioning, is competing in a crowded market, or wants to move upmarket, I can help you define what makes you different and build the story that supports it. An outside perspective is crucial when you're already deep in the weeds.
The When
When agencies call me
Agencies typically reach out at one of these moments. If any of them sound familiar, it's worth a conversation.
Senior Capacity Gap
Your senior strategic talent is stretched, on leave, or simply not available for the scope of a new engagement. Rather than turn down the work or deliver it at a lower level, you bring in senior capacity that integrates cleanly with your team.
The Client Has Outgrown the Brief
What started as a campaign or identity project has become a brand strategy conversation, and one that goes beyond what the original scope covered. Having a senior brand strategist on call means you can follow the client's needs without overpromising.
A High-Stakes Pitch
The opportunity is significant, the competition is strong, and you need the pitch to demonstrate strategic depth that matches the scale of the ask. This is not the moment to figure it out internally.
Expanding Your Strategic Offering
Execution shops that want to move upmarket need to demonstrate they can think, not just deliver. Bringing in a fractional senior strategist lets you build and prove that capability with clients before you commit to a full-time hire.
Repositioning the Agency Itself
You've evolved. Your positioning hasn't. Whether you're narrowing your focus, entering a new category, or trying to command higher fees, getting your own brand right is the work most agencies keep putting off. It doesn't have to be.
The How...again
How Engagements work
I work with a small number of clients at a time. Sometimes only one. That's by design. Every engagement gets real attention and are selected based on fit - the work, the client, and the team. Rates are discussed directly in our first conversation, based on scope.
Retainer
Ongoing partnership: a defined number of days per month, sustained over time. Right for agencies that want consistent senior strategic support across multiple clients or pitches. Minimum 3-month commitment.
Hybrid
Start with a scoped project, transition to ongoing support as the relationship develops. The most common structure and the one that tends to produce the strongest long-term partnerships.
Project-Based
A single defined engagement: a pitch, a client strategy sprint, a positioning project. Clear scope, clear timeline, clear deliverable. Minimum 4-week engagement.
The Why
Why Bring in a Fractional partner?
The best agencies know when a project needs resources they don't have in-house. Senior brand strategy is often that thing, and hiring for it full-time rarely makes sense when the demand isn't always there.
A fractional brand leader gives your agency access to senior-level thinking exactly when a client or pitch demands it. The result is more capacity without more headcount, stronger strategic output without compromising quality, and the ability to take on complex, high-stakes work with confidence.
I work as an extension of your team. Under your brand and invisible to the client. So your reputation grows with every engagement. Your senior people focus on what they do best. Your team builds capability by proximity. And the work that might have been declined, diluted, or handed off gets done at the level it deserves.
Increase Capacity
Take on more work without stratching your team past its limits.
Increase Quality
Senior strategic input raises the standard of every engagement it touches.
Handle Complexity
Brand strategy, architecture, positioning, audits, etc. I take on the work that requires depth your team may not have yet.
Develop Your Team
Working alongside a senior strategist fosters growth and insight. Your people get better by proximity.
Reduce Risk
Experienced oversight means fewer misfires, tighter briefs, and cleaner client relationships.
Build Reputation
Consistently strong strategic output is how agencies move upmarket and earn the work they actually want.
